One of the main missions of the ACM is to organise the computer science/informatics community worldwide, yet in Europe it remains fragmented. This workshop constitutes an opportunity to create and strengthen ties across country lines and across technical communities, and to provide tools for ACM chapters in Europe to work better.

The workshop aims to galvanise chapters and to encourage chapter leaders, by disseminating “best practices” for chapters. It will also serve to understand the specific challenges faced by European chapter leaders, and develop strategies to help them. By providing networking opportunities, by tightening links with and between European chapters, by informing officers about ACM, its benefits (e.g., DSP, awards, etc.) and its procedures, by improving procedures and support for PR, marketing and dissemination of information, ACM will increase its value for its members, and will become more effective and useful in Europe.
